PowerBond 8-rib SFI Damper
Hey everyone, im rebuilding my 4.6 as some of you already know. I just got my crank and soon it will be time to have it balanced. Right now im looking into getting a nice sfi damper, and since i will be running a supercharger i figured now would be a good time to switch to an 8-rib setup.
There seem to be quite a few sfi dampers out there, but only a few of which are 8 rib. I found one brand by the name of PowerBond that makes what looks to be a good product, and at the reasonable price of $230 seems to be a good deal. What i would like to know is if anyone here has one or has used one of these PowerBond dampers on their car, 6 or 8 rib, and what they think about it. Any info would be great! Thanks as always! |

so much for powerbond
So i decided to get the powerbond 8 rib damper, but when i called the powerbond dealer they didnt have that one in stock. So he gave me the number to the tech/warehouse. I called them and they didnt have it either. Long story short, Powerbond is an Austrailian company which i dont have any problem with other then, it will take over a month to get this pully and if i ever needed a replacement it would take just as long or longer. Needless to say i am patient, but not that patient. So i ended up going with an ATI race balancer. ATI is based right out of Baltimore MD, which is only like 15 miles from where i live. It cost twice as much, but at least i wont have to wait forever to get it. Plus i get the peice of mind that if there is ever a problam i can drive streight to the place that makes it to have it repaired. On top of everything else, its made in the USA...thats the best part of all.

i have used the powerbond brand before but mainly on the more cost effective builds, i have nothing bad to say about them, but you cant go wrong with the innovators west or ati.. If it were me i would go with the 10% overdriven right off the bat, this will let you run a bigger blower pulley for more belt/pulley contact
