Question about headers on an 03 cobra

Just a curiosity question but maybe one day I'll actually do it. Whats your average install time on headers? Someone once told me to do headers you'd have to lift the engine out to do them. Was that true?

wrong section buddy. buuuut to install long tubes, yes your going to have to do quite a bit of lifting. shorties u may have to lift some as well. i've only installed headers while motor was out of car.

okay so then you guys would then agree you would have to pull the motor out then? How many hours would this take? Asking case I'd prob have to pay a mechanic a hourly rate to do it. Unless I found someone who'd do it at a good price. but just gathering information at this point.

its not too bad, motor doesnt have to be pulled. k has to be dropped, but motor can stay where it is.

if the fit of the headers are good, then its just time consuming. if the fit is off, then its a pain. this is for both 2 & 4v's.

Littlestown Pa. It's just over the pa line. So md is 5mins or way or less. Gettysburg is about 15mins or so. Hope this helps in the location.

They aren't bad if you are confortable dropping the k-member. It usually takes me 3-4 hours to install a set.

Thankfully I have had pretty good luck lately other than the set that went on my car. The drivers side pipes sits too close to the k-member and taps the k-member when the car hits a bump. It's really not a big deal since I plan on throwing a tubular K in it soon. Hell the ceramic coating isn't worth a crap either. My headers are already starting to rust and they have only been on for a couple of months.

I installed mine when the motor was out and also installed a tubular k at the same time. I dont think I would even want to mess with doing it on a cobra with a stock k member and motor in the car. it's amazing how much more room you have with a tubular k member. I put kooks in my car and the fitment was spot on!
