Vehicle Sways from side to side.

Not to long ago I installed new suspension, brakes, rims and tires. Tokico HP shocks/struts and springs, 275/35/R17x9 up front and 315/35/R17x10.5 in the rear. My problem is when im cruising or decelerate my car sways from side to side as if I had a trailer on the back. I have had an alignment. I am trying to figure what else it might be. Any help guys, thanks.

I think so, just feels like the back of the care is swaying from side to side when I drive in a straight line. If i accelerate fast it does not happen, but as soon as I decel it is all over the place.

I think I found the solution. I think the term is called "rear roll steer". Does this sound familiar to anybody? If this is the problem then all I have to get is a rear roll steer kit. Let me know if you guys have had this problem

"Steeda's rear roll steer kit helps elimiate rear roll steer by correcting the bump steer geometry in the rear of IRS Cobra Mustangs. The design of the rear IRS (independent rear) suspension on '99-'04 Cobras is great for ride quality, but introduces bump steer characteristics like you see in the front suspension. The toe changes from bump steer produce unwanted rear toe changes resulting in unwanted steering inputs from the rear suspension. This produces adverse handling characteristics. This kit from Steeda allows you to fine tune rear bump steer geometry to improve steering response and handling balance."

I was gonna ask if you have bumpsteered the irs. I need to do mine again after swapping to some heavy duty end links.............Also you might want to check your front inner tie rods and tie rod ends. under braking when the weight is transfered to the front if your tie rods are worn it will cause your front tires to be able to move a little and cause a similar feeling.

I know the the sway is coming from the rear. When I brake I do get a little bit vibration in the front when I brake that is because the rotors need to be turned. I will try this and see how it works.

could be that but have you inspected your rod ends/wheel bearings/swaybar end links and bushings? I would make sure you inspect all of that very well before spending money on other parts.

If you do end up doing the rear bumpsteer kit remember that it has to be setup by bumpsteering the irs. This will either be added cost of having someone else do it or added cost of purchasing or building a bumpsteer gauge to do it yourself.

If you decide to do it yourself send me a PM and I'll find a video that Bruce at full tilt boogie racing made explaining how to do it yourself.
