New car for school

Im hoping to attend Universal Technical Institute soon and will be doing to Ford FACT program alongside of my actual certification. Now my only real concern is my transportation. Since I will be doing to Ford program, naturally i would be looking for a Mustang. I was looking at the 03-04 Mach 1. That is my main choice but i was wondering if yall could give me some insight in to the Mach 1 and the Gt of the same year. Thanks

IMO 03-04 cobra > mach1 > 99/01 cobra > bullitt > gt
i like the mach1s more than the non sc cobras because they have a solid axle and shaker with a similar engine.

Don't get a gt. Scrape together the extra cash and get a mach1. I've never heard any mach1 owners say they wish they got a gt, but I've heard plenty of gt owners wishing they had heald out for a mach1.

I'm on my iPhone so I don't want to get too detailed, but the difference in performance for the two is a big jump.

What's the average price for a 03-04 cobra compaired to a Mach 1 of the same year. It's gonna be a project car as well as a learning platform.

Same year, similair miles you are looking to pay about $7k more for the terminator. N/A cobras are actually going to be cheaper than the mach1. And I'd take a mach1 over a 99-01 cobra.

For a learning platform I'd get either the 96-01 Cobras or Mach. Any of those platforms will be cheaper than the 03/04 Cobra and all require that you break apart the motor if you want to put big power in them.

Eh, I like the Mach 1's, but to me there isn't any fun factor. People see Mach 1 and unless you're a Ford/Mustang person, you don't really now what it is...now when people see Cobra;.....now we'retalkin'

Plus, no matter what everybody says about the SRA, the IRS pwns the SRA and I'd take that any day of the week over the SRA.

I personally love the IRS in my Cobra.

The pros of Mach 1
Same engine platform as 99/01 Cobras
SRA (some peoples opinion)
Better gearing

99/01
IRS (my opinion)
Avaiable in Convertible!!!!! Biggest reason IMO.
Better interior - seats

If you are looking for a good project, you might want to consider the 96-98 cobra as well.

id actually rate the bullits slightly above the 99-01 cobras. i know i know the 99-01 cobras have more power and a better platform but i just like them so much.

i would highly recommend a mach 1 over any of the other choices (other than 03-04 cobra). those that have not driven would would not understand the allure of the shaker. i love it! i would put one on my cobra if it wasn't for the heat extractor hood. and people know what a mach 1 is. and if they don't who cares. you still have one badass ride. i would suggest the manual one though because it does come with a forged crank where the automatics come with a cast crank. the manuals take just a little more power. as for the whole irs vs sra debate, i see far more reliability issues with the irs's than a good ol sra. is the ride nicer in an irs? well, sure it is. having driven both though, i'd take an sra all day long.

^ That's because you're gay. lol

It really comes down to what you want to do with the car in the IRS v SRA debate. If you are wanting to build a high HP car for drag racing, SRA is the easy way to go. If you want to just build a fun street car and enjoy some fun runs, the IRS wil be just fine.

What's the difference between the Cobra and Mach seats other than the Cobra emblem?
