i think that someone on here has done it. you may be better off talking to the 5.0 guys but im thinking that a decent amount of work would need to be done

It's been done, it's not particularly common, though.

Put your GT500 drivetrain in there.

There's been quite a few 4v foxes out there lately. Go look on youtube for a few of them.

Without the bloat those motors just rip. I basically did the same thing except discovered that the Fox was in fact lighter, but after beefing it up you basically have a 96-98 Cobra.

Like the foxes dont have the underbody X bracing found on the 94+ cars, and they have the older interior which can also be swapped from a 94+ car.

Basically you could put your 94-04 interior in the Fox, add some bracing, then the heavier motor/trans, then if you dont have a 8.8 fox, you need to swap out the 7.5 or you'll break it. Then you need to swap to heavier 5lugs, then you need some real brakes, then you have a 3300lb fox weighing barely less than a stock Cobra.

Basically what I'm saying is by the time the Fox was "ready" for the drivetrain, you would have a car weighing just a hair less than a stock 96-98 Cobra.

So I decided to save all that trouble and start with a 97 Cobra. I went crazy with the weight reduction and found myself with a very light corner carving stang that runs mid 12s on a completely untouched stock motor.

I understand the fox thing if you want the fox looks, but if its just about weight then step up a tad into the 96-98 Cobra and start from there.

It has all been done before. all the way up to v-10 foxes. I personaly like the idea of the GT500 powertrain (even though it's been done) but if you've got the termi stuff then go for it. It's alot easier than you might think.
