well for the last three days i have had the worst luck with my motor.
The alternator went bad, replaced it.
Car over heated got that taken care of.
Tonight i look under the car and discover a puddle of oil, its right in the front of the motor so i looked and the front seal... not nasty and oily.
Look at the power steering pump and its covered in oil......Sigh...WTF!
Maybe this is a sign to get rid of it while i can...

What I always tell myself is that another vehicle is just another set of potential issues.

Once you start fixing it, you pretty much lose money if you sell it. Also if you fix it yourself there will be known good parts now and no more guessing whats going on.

I'd rather have a car with mostly new aftermarket high quality parts compared to a car with mostly new lesser quality stock parts. Which do you think will last longer? Think about costs of new title/plates/tax/insurance all the running around, the hassle, and selling your baby.

Thats what I keep saying to myself

Just fight your Cobra. It's a great color and done tastefully if your signature is any indication. As long as you have no internal damage you're safe. Plus they're not worth a whole lot anymore.

I just want a freaking 4 valve, theres a '99 Cobra convertible in my town, it's black exterior, black leather, black top, lowered, chrome fr500's 18x9 and 18x10 with brand new nitto 555's all around, and magnaflow magnapack catback on it and it has *55,200* miles, 55K, thats it,their asking $13,900 for it!!

The only thing thats holding me back is I really don't wanna go down in years, since I own an '04 and I HATE the 99 interior/radio and stuff.

And I knew the guy who owned the cobra before me, he's in his 50's and would wash it every saturday, detail it, then put it back in the garage, he was ocd about that thing.

And my buddy works at the dealership and could probably get it down to at least $12,000 plus like 7,500 trade in for my car, 4-4,500 difference? worth it?

My 99 cobra has 139,XXX miles and still runs great no knocking even on cold start up, smokes a little but still runs smooth and very strong. The car seems to have been very well taken care of and it will be for sure in my hands, I spare no expense when it comes to maintenance, just do it all myself to save some.

I too would get in a 4 valve however possible. Especially now that I have one, I'd never go back. And I have the B heads which are more of a boosted head. And even then I run damn good times by just pulling weight.

I like the round body more and thats why i passed up the 99. Comparing 99 to 01 go with the 99 every time.

01 switched to the shitty ford block and only gained the new trans and 31 spline irs which really is just like the 99 since the part that breaks isnt the part that got bigger. (The CV's on either 99 or 01 break well before the half shaft, only 03/04 got the better CV's along with a stronger yet half shaft)

Basically i think it's easier to upgrade the IRS diff & shafts over replacing a block. So start with the better block (99) and upgrade the other parts when you break them.

I've also had great luck with my T-45 and would rather have one over the 3650 which seems to be less hit and miss and more miss .

a couple guys on different SVT Forums are close to reaching 300K in their Terminators!
One was at 276 the other 272!
And to the guy above me calling the WAP Aluminum block shitty is a little harsh, their plenty capable of supporting 800-100HP!

Is that why everyone's rebuilt terminator is running a WAP?

Must be so good that every build is using them right? I can count all the termies running Teksids on both hands, both feet, and someone elses hands/feet. I cant seem to find more than 1 Termie running a WAP though....

Hmmmmmm.
