x-pipe or h-pipe
i have a catted x-pipe on my mach right now i want to go with an uncatted pipe but dont know if i should go x or h..

I am pretty sure that you have to keep an x-pipe, you can get an O/R one though. H-pipes are for the guys with long tube headers. Someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure thats the way it is.

You can get either. Prochamber sounds the best though. lol
No cats will make it louder though.

![]() X or H has nothing to do w/ what headers you have OP, what mid pipe you have should be determined by what mufflers you're running. Simple rule w/ mid pipes: H pipe = chambered mufflers X pipe = straight through mufflers

I heard a 99 cobra with bbk longtubes, DR GAS O/R X Pipe and Spintech prostreet mufflers and it was the best sounding mustang ive ever heard especially 4v.

nope they are not, they are still straight tru mufflers with a lil bit of fiberglass inside tha muffler

I have never heard a good sound H pipe setup on a 4v. X pipes just sound a lot better. Anyone have any Prochamber videos? I've thought about switching it up.

flow 40s or mac cb with o/r H
or catted x with borla stingers id be safe and use cats idk what the laws are where you are but in NJ its $1000 for every cat missing and O/R pipes show little to no gains over cats.

Someone should try both! Buy and x pipe and then after put an H style crossover tube.
![]() I kid I kid. Or do I? Oh and to the above poster who wanted videos of Prochambers, I hate to sound like a smart ass, and I am not trying to, but YouTube has a TON of them. That is how I decided on my Prochamber. I have a couple fo videos of mine on youtube, but youtube don't work for crap here on my work computer always locks it up. Sorry.

I searched "mac prochamber cobra" on youtube and found like 3 videos that were actually decent enough quality to understand what it sounds like.
What catback do you have? I'm thinking about changing to a Prochamber and MAC catback.

i just installed my longtube ARH headers, with a high flow 3" catted X-pipe, and i am so impressed, i almost went for kooks but im glad i didnt.
but yeah doesnt matter if you have longtubes or not, i went from the H to the X and im very happy, i dynoed 36 hp over stock goin to the L/T's and new high flow midpipe, i couldnt believe it. i can hardly tell it has catts, so you might want to consider a nice high-flow pipe instead of an O/R |
