Cores in exhaust?
I got my 1999 Cobra today and the gentleman said he placed "some smaller cores" in the exhaust to quiet it down.
Since I am unfamiliar with this term, what are these and how can I go about removing them to make my car sound more beastly? |

Never heard of that. The only thing I can think of is he changed out the mufflers.

Yeah I thought that was a bit strange when he said that. It's a Bassani exhaust with an x-pipe. Guy knows Bassani personally apparently. The exhaust doesn't sound as meaty as I thought it would which is why I want to change it for a more throaty/deeper sound than what it has.

Bassani has baffles inside their tips.

I see there is an allen bolt to hold in the baffles. I tried taking them out and was successfull with one of them but the other I happened to strip the bolt and now I cant get it to move.
Any solutions on how to get this bolt out even when it has been stripped? I want to remove those baffles. Last edited by idesigner; February 18th, 2010 at 09:57 AM. |

How bad did you strip it? Try hammering down a smaller allen head on to it.
