Spring Rate Help

Looking at getting the UPR Tubular K Member and Front Coil Over setup from Lethal...only problem is I have no clue what Spring Rate to go with. If someone could give me an overview on spring rates, and help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. This car will be a DD with some track action.

definetly gonna want a 14" spring, and i think you'll be plenty happy with the 175's.

its all good holmes. i found out the hard way to stay clear of the 12" spring. i used one on my car and it bottomed over everything and the car generally felt like shit on the street. but with the extra spring length, it was golden. infact i run a 14", 175lb spring on my car now and its extremely streetable and does great with street driving. infact i have been on that combo for 2 years now.

Nice. Yeah, I'm kinda sorta following your setup a bit. When I get the SRA I'm gonna have coil overs for the rear as well. I need to find some springs for that as well because I don't want to run drag springs everyday.

no need for coilover in the rear imo. a good lca and the proper spring will make you plenty happy. from what i understand, coilovers in the back tends to lead to launch problems on our cars. i have seen a few folks sell thier rear coilover setups off due to it killing thier 60' times.

Well the SRA I'm getting already has the coilovers on it. Well then what springs would be good for the rear, and still give the car a nice little stance to go with the front? I want a good comprimise.

well, if its already coming with them, can't hurt to try em and see how you like them. honestly, i have ran an eibach drag launch spring on my car since day 1. i love them. though people always tell me that my car could be lower. but, it rides good and is very streetable, not to mention cuts 1.5 60's off like nobodys business.

Yeah, I'm gonna try them. They do have drag launch springs on them too. I was just worried about how streetable they are.

I know this post is way old but why do I always persistently hear people talk about how coilovers in the rear cause problems launching. COilovers area GREAT way to not only improve your ride quality, but height and the adjustment of being able to dial in your squat which I totally hate. The fact he has a mustang should not limit the person on a coilover setup. I have qa1 fronts with 175's and Just picked up a set of rears that are 150. FOr now the front hardly drops when braking and corners like a razor(I cant wait to feel the difference once I get the qa1 tubular a arms in). The rears will soon get 250's or slightly less as I dont want any off the clutch squat and brake lift. It rides smooth to me.
