termi rear brakes w/15" track wheel?
so my buddy traded me a set of stock wheels off my gt for his extra set of track tires. they have 275/50-15 drs on them but im going to take them off to run slicks. they look like weld draglites he said that they are 15x10 look more like 15x8 to me. do i need a spacer or should they fit?

i cannot remember, do you have irs still? if you do your probably gonna do some grinding to make the wheel fit. if your sra, a 15x10 will fit no problem. thats the size i run...

You will more than likely have to grind on the tie rod end and maybe even the caliper.

you need a 6 point to run under 11.5?
what else do you need usually my local track for street cars its pants and a helmet. there arent that many street cars running under 11.50s though here.

two things they will make you have no matter what et, to run slicks is open ended lugnuts, and a driveshaft safety loop. just an FYI.
this also depends on how strict your track is on the nhra rulebook...

How do the new roll cage rules work? The rulebook is confusing.
Page 42 of the 2008 NHRA Rulebook: Mandatory in all cars running quicker than 10.99 seconds or faster than 135 mph, or per Class Requirements. Cars with unaltered firewall, floor, and body (from firewall rearward, wheeltubs permitted) running between 10.00 and 10.99, roll bar permitted in place of roll cage, or per Class Requirements. This is two years old though. Did they really make it 11.5 now? I'm not sure on stock blowers but I'm fairly certain you need a closed faced helmet and some sort of jacket as well. If you are running slicks you must have a drive shaft loop. Radials do not require a drive shaft loop. Also chiming in on the open lugnut slicks rule. They actually check for all that stuff here at Route 66 Raceway. Last year I didn't have open lugs but just had the car teched with street wheels on it. They never said anything but other racers noticed. Heh. Now if you go somewhere else (a lot of IHRA tracks) the only safety check they do is that you're car isn't on fire in the tech lane and you have at least 4 wheels. You might be able to race with one front wheel if you put some fast food trays under the hub on the other wheel so it doesn't gouge the track. They probably won't care. You're also allowed to keep your fuel in a kiddy pool sloshing around in your back trunk. Oil spills on the track consist of Mr. Clean floor cleaner, a mop, and a bucket for about 10 seconds. Yeah, the redneck tracks are definitely awesome. I've watched wheels roll away there. Some NHRA tracks are a little more lenient it seems assuming it's not some huge track. I know a few NHRA tracks around here that are far less strict (or so it seems) than Rt. 66. Route 66 isn't even a fan friendly track in my opinion anyways. They rarely have test & tune and the whole track is massive, dead, and soulless. It's also way too expensive. You have to travel to Byron or Great Lakes Dragaway to have fun at the track. They actually keep all their concessions open, have bars (yeah...), and actively seek to host events that are fun for the crowd. Route 66 stopped racing at night to save on money that's how unfun that track really is.
