Lets say its the spark plugs. I would think would be sorta silly just changing 1 right? Might as well change them all? What type of spark plug would be ideal. I recall seeing some high performance ones when I was looking at mods. How to Replacement NGK Spark Plugs for 2008, 2009, 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 6.1L Hemi [NGK] - $19.95 What would you guys recommend? I prob can't do the install but if i buy the parts myself prob can save some money that way.

NGK's or autolits are good. Just go with the coppers no need for the platinums. Im not sure as to which one Termi owners are using though. You can always call a shop to find out what plugs they can supply when doing the install and if they have the one that you like then just reques them. If you are going to take it to a shop to do it then you might as well have them do a tune up. Plugs, fuel filter, air filter, etc... shouldnt be tooo much.

Speaking of Air filter. Sense a past owner put on a steeda Cold air intake. The air filter is in that correct? Do shops even touch that? I know they are suppose to be cleaned and can be reused if you have the kit that does that.

No if it has an aftermarket filter they usually won't touch it nor does it rarely ever need replaced. It's good to pull it off every season though and clean it.

Well got an appointment set up for next friday. The type of sparkplug they use is motorcraft. I'll be honest I would like to upgrade the pulley system (LFP reccommends upgrading to a colder spark plug such as the TR6 when adding more boost). What's your take on this guys?
Far as price they said $8 per plug. Can get a 8 NGK's for $20... Seem be better to buy them myself.
Or can get 8 motorcraft for $35 from AM
Probably what the shop would use.... http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-s...0304cobra.html

Also asked if it was the coil pack guy said could run around $120 for a new coilpack....

ask them if you can bring your own plugs in. As far as a colder plug you would have to with more boost. If it does to turn out to be a bad coil on plug (not coil pack) there are some other places where you can get it cheaper but we will cross that when it comes up.

Ya I did talk to them about bringing my own plugs they said no problem.

Bases on what you said in your last post. Should I just be having them find the problem or fix the problem about the plug or coil pack?

I would say to go with a tune up to see if corrects the problem first. If it still reoccurs then you can go from there. You can also ask the mechanic to swap the #'s 6 & 7 coil that way when you get done with the tune up and a code comes up for another misfire and this time its #7 then you know that its the coil that is bad.

This option is a little difficult to do. They want me to drop the car over night so they can work on it during the day while I'm working. Far as a tune up? I've only put maybe 500miles on it sense I've owned it. Going to see if Advance Auto will look at the plug I know they often will look at your car.

the only way to check to see if a COP is defective is to do an actual resistance test. They wont be able to check, unless they do the above, if it is indeed bad or not. As far as I know they usually just do usual things like battery checks and replacements, wiper replacements, and diagnostic checks.

Doing the resistance test on it shouldn't be difficult at all.

no its not as long as you have a multimeter. it is really easy and is the best way to check if the said component is needing to be replaced or not. Thats how I found my intermittent miss on my # 6 cylinder. Thought it was the coil but after reading good i checked and I had an internally broken wire on the harness between main connector and the coil connector.

Wraitherx that was me that tried adding you to yahoo earlier today. So thinking I'll have them replace all 8 plugs. See if that fixes the problem If not sure they will tell me. Prob easier method without having to make multiple trips to the service station.

Not sure if I should go with the motor craft ones or the NGK TR6 Spark Plugs. I would like to eventually upgrade the boost but not 100% sure when. Any problems if I got TR6 and installed before added the boost?
