1999 cobra vs 2001 cobra

Which is better and why? Just curious.

01's, interior is better and they come with a 31 spline IRS instead of the 28 from 99, also says COBRA on the rear bumper instead of MUSTANG on the 99's. But it all depends on what you are going for. Both have the same engine, people are gonna say something about 99's being over rated, watch. The fact is that 95% of the 99's were fixed. The 01 depending on when it was manufactured may either have a Teksid block or a WAP block. Both are aluminum but everyone seeks the Teksid because of its durability. The 99 has a T45 while the 01 has the 3650.
thats pretty much it as far as I remember.

ive heard that the 3650 is a little better but nothing definitive on that taht I have seen.

In adition to the items mentioned, the 99s that haven't had the fix recall have the worst flowing intake due to severe casting flash. The fixed 99 intake is better. The stock 01 intake flows better then both versions of the 99 intake.

Nazzman had a thread on SVTp that told how to tell the difference between the 99 intakes.
If I was to purchase a 99 and it had the un fixed intake, I'd swap it out for a mach1 intake (the bast flowing one out of the bunch)

but yea seriously it just on what you want and what looks better to you. remeber no all cobra's you see is stock. some may have some mods that a 01 you find may not have or vice versa.

01's:
double din radio
31 spline
nicer interiors
smoked headlights
and i would say even more rare lol, i have been looking for a 01 and only seem to find 99's

99's:
2 single din radio
ugly headlights
"mustang" rear bumper instead of cobra
ugly rims(IMO)

I remember after I bought my 01 I saw a red 99 that looked perfect and only had 9,000 miles on it for $12,500. I almost wish I waited a little bit longer but I love my 01.
