This is my first post, this is all new with me, so bare with me, I have a 01 cobra that needs a new front and rear bumper, also the side skirts. Will the body parts from a 03 cobra fit my car? if so i would much rather have the look of the 03. also have a mark on my tail light from when my rear bumper got hit, can i also use 03 tail lights and just wire the turn signal in with the tail lights?
My car is pretty stock right now other than a K&N cold air and a center force clutch, looking to do some bolt on power right now, nothing to major yet, with maybe a short throw shifter, cat-back exhaust, h-pipe, underdrive pullies, any other ideas? any brand exspecially good for the cobra's?

Yes, all 03 body parts will fit without modifications.

For the tail lights you will have to wire a different harness for the 03 lights to work, stick with the 01s, they look better anyways.

Brands are all personal preference, go with what you like and can afford.

thanks, thats great, i have to do some looking and see if i can find some 03 body parts at a good price.

what would be the best to start with as far as doing a few mods?

Buy an 03.

Don't mean to sound like a dick, so sorry if I do. I agree the 03's looks great, but if you want the complete looks of an 03 then get one. By the time you buy all the parts and have them painted, you could probably sell the 01 and buy an 03.

I would love to have an 03, but i won't get enough money out of my 01 to come close for the price the 03 are going for with low mileage, mine only has 28,000 mi. The way the economy is right now, i have to work with what i have. i have enough money to do some up grades and fix up my body, but if i can make it look similar to an 03 that would be even better.

Everything will fit like others said, personally I think the 01 cobra front looks amazing. That front with 03 skirts, bullitt scoops, and terminator wing would look sick. Plus you don't want to get shown up by a LS1 and have him tell all his mullet friends he just beat a terminator lol (jk about the mullet friends, I like all american muscle lol)

I have an '01 with the '03bumpers hood and wing. I got it that way but its what I wanted. Its gonna be a turbo project so buying an '03 would have been a waste of money since you have to use the '01 intake for a turbo setup. I also wanted to do an SRA swap, which I did, so paying extra for the IRS in the '03 would have been a waste. Im also going to an auto trans, so buying the '03 with the 6 speed would have been a waste. So if you have an '01 and want to look like an '03, do it.

I don't think it would have been a waste for you. With an 03 going turbo you could have sold the "eaton swap" to an 01 guy for his N/A parts and cash. The 01's came with an IRS as well. So you could have sold your IRS for cash and SRA to a GT guy who wanted IRS. Plus with your auto swap the 3650 in your car would not have fetched to money that a 6speed would have.

I am not knocking the 01's. Hell I love mine. When I bought mine though an 03 vert was going for over $10K more then I got mone for. That is why I went with the 01. I just did not want to spend the money at the time. Looking back I wish I would have waited a year and a half to buy my car. I could have picked up an 03 vert for a much more reasonable price.

Anyway, back on subject. OP, do what you want. I just don't like seeing 01s turned in to 03 clones. They are not 03s. I admit that the 03 has some much better looking parts then the 01, but so does the aftermarket. I would love to have an 03 rear bumper. However, I love the front end of an 01. Looks way better the the Miata on steroids look of an 03. Plus if you you are spending money to change the looks of your car, why make it look like another stock car? I say make it your own.

Of course all of this is just purely my opinion. 86 has a gorgeous car. It is an 01 with an 03 look. All the way down to the wheels. I love it. Think it is beautiful. Yet it looks like a stock 03.

Best looking Mustang made from Mustang parsts would be

01 Cobra front bumper, Mach 1 shaker hood, Mach 1 C pillars, Bullitt side scoops, 03 Side skirts and rear bumper, no wing, and Saleen wheels.

LOL. All good. I wanted to buy the bullit side scoops. I just got too damn good of a deal on the GT side scoops. I could not see spending an additional $100+ for the bullit ones.
