Thoughts oN a 99
Hi, guys some of you may have saw my post on the "Insurance rates"
for a cobra.Anyways I have 75% decided on it.Here is the craigslist info I cant put the posting because I'm on my Ipod but here is the info it has some minor damage on the passenger side door and a couple dents on the roof (2-3). I'm selling it because it lost oil pressure tonight and and it still drives but it will drop oil pressure after about 3 miles. im not sure if its a lifter,oil pump,bearing, or what? its not a blown headgasket because its not milky and it could be a simple fix.. this is a good deal for someone wanting to fix it or make it a drag car,i just don't have time to fix it..I'm asking $6000 obo and it first come first serve.(please don't bullshit me or waste my time,first person to show up with the cash takes the car! i have gotten a lot of calls and text's about the car and its still here,i want to get rid of it asap and closest offer to $6k takes it).i found another cobra and want to sell this so i can buy it. i would get it checked out thoroughly by a mechanic. Get a leak down and compression test done. The oil pressure drop could be a bad sensor and the oil pressure guages in our cars are just dummy guages anyway. If he has an aftermarket guage then I wouldnt get it. Also, if he's got breathers on the valve covers take them off or see if you see any smoke coming out of it. If not then see if you can re-attach the PCV system and take it for a ride and see if any oil drips out of the intake or if the PCV's blow off when you get on it. I have heard of people trying to mask engine problems with breathers on the valve covers.

Nks and would the whipple that gos on the"terminator" fit it??I have a buddy that got bad gas and they payed him 10k so he is getting the engine rebuilt and a kenne bell so he will sell me his whipple cheap.

it drops oil pressure??? WALK AWAY NOW!!!!! just simply WALK AWAY! I am a dealer and I would not touch that with a 100 foot pole, that car is about to have some serious major issues he is driving it on dropped oil pressure and that motor is FUCKED! PLEASE for the sake of MM don't buy that car! pick another one who cares if it's modded!
If it's a bad lifter - your looking inwards of $1,000 to fix it that car has serious issues and is not something you want o deal with unless you have a plan for ALOT OF CUSSING A SHITTY MOTOR A ABUSED CAR I would offer him $3,000 because by the time that damn thing is running right again you will have 6k in it

just get it checked out by a mechanic. If the person selling it does not agree to get it checked out then walk away. As I have stated, the problem could just be a bad sensor and our oil pressure guages are not 100% accurate as most people just call them dummy guages. Any car that you purchase, private seller, always make sure to have it throroughly checked out by a good mechanic.

well yes, maybe I just got a little irrational there my bad
I just tend to avoid anything that has redflags on them, but do as wraitherx suggested! and make sure you locate your own guy to check the vehicle out otherwise he will just have a buddy thats a mechanic call you and lie ! personal experience on dealing with stuff like this, that's why i don't mess with it any more

Okay I should be able to have my shop teacker come with me.I think he has like 20+ years exp. So to get it straight check the sensor and the gauge and other things that you are supposed to have done with it okay guys I think I will check it out saturday.I will search around and see what I would have to do about an S/C if I get the car
