finally ready to supercharge the '97

i'm going with this kit:

Mustang 2001 Supercharger Kit, 4.6 Cobra, Novi 2000 W/ Intercooler by Paxton at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

i wanted to go ahead and buy all the necessary stuff too (injectors, fuel pump, MAF, etc.) and that's the part i need help with. what size injectors? what fuel pump? MAF size?

what else?

i was gonna hold off on a tuner until i decide what shop i want to tune my car (or should i say until whichever shop chooses to actually return my phone calls)

no pic of intercooler?

If your not going to upgrade the block then 39 Cobra injectors would be fine or 42's, whatever you can find a deal on.

I love the GT S/C pump with a 20 amp BAP...thats would I have with 42's and thats plenty of fuel for the car.

Could do a slot style MAF or SCT BA series. Or LMAF with a MAfia.

Will you be blow thru or draw thru?

sorry thought you had a GT.

Block is fine but internals aren't forged. So 39's or bigger with a GT pump and BAP will out last your internals. Oh at dont for the plugs...I have NGK Tr6

blow thru MAF is after the blower and draw thru MAF is before. you can run a BOV with a blow tho.

I suggest a blow thru setup. The BOV has to be BEFORE THE MAF and with draw thru the bypass valve will be AFTER the MAF

dude, i'm a noob at all this, so bare with me. what's the advantage of a blow thru setup? the only difference is the way it's installed, right? i mean i wont have to buy more shit if i go blow thru besides a BOV, will i?

you think i should still go with 42# injectors?

np man.

read that post I linked...that will help A LOT! But its more accuate and you can run a BOV. You can also run a bypass valve too with a blow thru. So no you dont HAVE too buy a blow off valve no but bypass re-circ hot air into the blower which creates hot air so thats no good!

Install is really no different. Just have to mount the MAF in a place where it is stright enough not to get a lot of turbulance.

Yeah man 42's are nice! You need EV 6 injectors too.

Or go 60s so you dont have to upgrade later but idk your spending limits.

what are the limits of the 42s and 60s?

i don't want overkill, but i do want room to grow

so supercharger kit, 42# or 60# injectors, MAF, GT S/C pump, BOV, what else?

well its your call...60 would be fine but 42 are more affordable.

This is my suggestion

Your Paxton with intercooler

A blow thru setup with a SCT MAF if your tuner likes them
A BOV b/c they are bitch and a better way to go
42 or 60 whatever you can afford or fine a deal on
Start with a GT s/c pump and a 40amp BAP( a little mroe money but wont neet to be upgraded later) I wish I would have gone with a 40amp now.

A 40 amp BAP doesn't necessarily make the duty cycle higher, its just for dual pump set ups while the 20 amp is for single pump set ups.

Bubba, how long do you plan on keeping the internals stock? I ask this because if you are looking to upgrade relatively soon then you probably should go ahead and go with the 60s and a cobra tank with dual pumps. But if you are planning on leaving it right now then you will be fine with a gt pump. I recommend a cobra tank with dual cobra pumps anyways, the sump really helps as if you keep your tank now you will not be able to goose it under 1/4 of a tank or you will go lean.

The SCT big air MAF is a great maf, but you will be fine with a diablo MAFia.

Yeah I know the 40 amp if for dual pumps but still there for upgrade as would 60's too. A obra tank is pricey...thats why I didn't suggest it. But would be a great up grade!

Also are the early SN-95 Cobra re-turn style fuel system i think so I am not sure what mods you would have to do if any for different tank and pumps, ect.
