Aviator Intakes.


I have a chance to get an aviator intake, complete. I can take what I want off the motor. What are the benefits and drawbacks of these intakes? What would be needed to make it work on my motor? What is a fair price for it?

Any and all infor anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

The intakes are heavier and don't offer much of a gain until a little past 6k. They have two sets of runners, one for down low, and one for up top but the problem is they seem to give horrible midrange and the stock cobra manifold makes better power. To make them worth it any at all you would need to have the top modified to accept a dual throttle body and to make sure it fits under the hood. I started to modify one of these manifolds but have bailed for now due to how much work is needed. You are better off getting a short runner intake or just staying with yours.

Just came across someone who has an entire motor that he said he would part out and I could get it realy cheap. Wondering what I could do with it. I would love a ported intake, I might just have to find another 01 and have it ported.

What year is the aviator motor from? if its 03-05 the heads are better than the 99-01 heads you probably have. If you can get those for cheap, might as well and throw some cams in those and swap the heads for some gain. I have a 8.5inch short runner lower intake that I have to finish porting if you are actually interested in one.

I am trying to find out the year.

I am currently in some huge debates right now about what to do. I am thinking boost. If I do that, the intake really ain't gonna be worth a crap. Damn. I hate when I have too many options. lol

Give me some details on your intake though. With the 8.5" runners, where would that do to my power band?

I am not sure about the exact details, but I know it will move your powerband up so it doesnt drop off as soon. 8.5 inches was the recomended runner length for 7k so thats what I did, then I got a mach manifold for cheap and am making an 8inch one out of that. I am aiming for a 7.5k redline with my car so I think im going to keep the 8inch one for myself.
