you think it might be the head tick?

so i was out driving today and pulled up to my buddys when i heard a ticking noise coming from under the hood. we popped the hood and could smell coolant. we revved the engine a little and the tick stayed the same, didnt change with the rpms. so i figured it was a rattle or somethin, we went and got some food and when we came out the car was cooled down a bit and there was no tick, we drive around a while it heats up and ticks, then i cruise at low rpms at about 55 for a few miles come to a stop and no tick, do some more stoplight traffic and it comes back. It seems like it only does it when its hot, does this sound like the dreadful head tick?

hard to say bro, coolant wouldnt relate to the head tick your thinking about, it could be something that just loosened up

i dont really know them all, i bought it used and he already did a bunch of stuff to it. from what i know it has a 2.75 upper, i cant tell what the lower is but i can see its aftermarket. has the steeda belt kit on it that is supposed to keep tension, full bassani exhaust, sct maf, has a tune on it, as far as i can see that is it as far as motor mods.

Just something you might check. My fan cracked on my 03 awhile back. One of the blades seperated from the shroud. Of course it only made a noise when the fan kicked on (when the motor warmed up) and it wasn't variable with RPM. Sounded horrible though! I loud clicking/ticking noise. At first I thought it was the head tick also. Turned out to be the fan. Just a place to check in case you run out of ideas.
