How Variations in Pistion Size Change Affect Performance?

Just curious because I ran across someone who has 9cc pistons which seemed to me rather on the small side. So how would the difference in sizes change performance, particularly when dealing with boost? If my question seems to be a little to vague, ask I'll try my best to clarify.

Different sizes are for different compression. You should try to get as much compression as you can pull off safely for whatever you are trying to do with your car.

So , my guess, the bigger the piston the lower the CR? He was running the 9cc Piston, Twin turbos on a New Edge Mach 1. Made a little over 500 rwhp @ 10 #'s but when he tried to up the boost he ran into a few problems, mainly on the upper end.

-xxcc is a dished piston, if no - then you are looking at a domed piston. more dish=lower compression. i bet he has -9cc dished piston, especially on boost.

correct. a +xxcc piston is domed and raises compression.
