FR500 Cams in 03 Cobra
Ive been searching for a long time and I really havent found much. Just wondering if these make good power with this motor, or does it hurt the power with it being more of an N/A cam with a blower? thanks

The kit. . . . With the springs are supposed to be real good if you want rev a lil higher. But I dont really know about the cam itself

Gearheads around the DFW area told me i could get around 20 hp or so, but idk how legit that is.

They are NA cams and have a little bit of overlap, you would be better off getting some 96-98 cobra cams, much much cheaper.

Back oh about January these kits were selling for around $800 with everything including the valvetrain. With you having a termi I'm not sure if it would help you a lot. It's not really that good of a N/A cam for a 4V (rather mild as far as aftermarket goes). On N/A applications 96-98 cams gain between 20-30rwhp and the FR500s get another 10 or so on those, but better midrange than the Cobra cams. If you want to increase your powerband on the cheap this will be a good buy for you. Heck you could even just buy the kit and then sell the cams. Use the valvetrain, buy a different set of blower cams, and sell the FR500 cams for $500ish and get back some of the money you'll put towards the new cams.

Well ive heard the Ford GT cams are pretty good too. Im sure that i can get him to go down on the price, but i really want something thats going to add power because i pretty much have everything done without going with a whipple or Kenne.

Ford GT cams are pretty mild too. Your best bet if you can't put the cams in yourself is to pony up the cash for a set of custom grinds.

I can put them in myself without a problem. i just dont want to spend almost 2 grand on cams when i could get a used whipple or kb for that price. So you do think these would help? did u say about 10 hp?

GT cams will help you out. I was just saying if you had to pay money to have someone else put them in then you should save some money to buy a really good set of cams instead of just an OK set.

if interested I have a set of 4v cams that I believe are 96-98 cobra cams at home I can let go for 150+shipping. Maybe they aren't fancy cams, but they are much cheaper.

Meh. . . . Cams are nice. . . . But the termi engine isnt cam limited . . . Its fuel and air limited. . .in other words if you wanna make power get a whipple, inj, fuel pumps and maf. . . Then make power

Peeps dont usually change 4v cams...esp the Termi's. I would port the blower first.

Well if you plan on getting a new blower I wouldn't waste the money porting the Eaton.
