Not a bad job to do. I just did a set on our 98. The energy ones did not hold up,so we put mm solids in. few wrenches jack stands and a jack and your good to go. And before anyone asks no the longtubes do not get in the way. Drivers side take it out going towards firewall. you will have to undo steering shaft to make it easier. not hard just one bolt and slide out of way. Passenger side I undid the bolts to the a/c pump and slid the mount out towards the front of the car. I did not diconnect the ac just moved it over for a min. If you have any ?s on anything with your cobra pm me. We have done about everything you can do to a 98 including a few you not supposed to be able to. I did it this way because it was the easiest in our situation. We had to leave for the track in a couple hours and had other things going on in the shop at the same time.

well mvp you did not install them correctly. Energy Suspension makes the best non-solid mounts out there. to change your motor mounts..
1. Get a hoist and support the motor.. 2. Take out motor mount bolts.. 3. jack motor up slightly, remove old mounts and put new mounts in.

To each his own. All depends on what you have for mods on car already(room and acess to do work). Also depends on yor level of knowledge and availability of tools. Hoists etc. Not every guy who does work in his garage or driveway has one. Those who dont put the car on stands and use a jack to lift the engine a little. I used to only have a driveway and one car garage to work in and it sucked. Now I have a full shop to work in with every tool imagineable at my disposal. I remember having to do things in a different way to make it possible to get done in the driveway. I am not saying my way is right or yours is wrong. I am saying it can be done and sometimes has to be done a different way. As for the energy mounts ours tore yes they fail. That is why we went solids cause we are hard on parts. Repeated high rpm launches with decent power will do that to any mount that is not a solid. To those of you who take their cars to a shop to have everything done, Dont let them charge you for more than one hour of labor for this job. It takes less than that to do it and be all cleaned up a going for a cruise. I hate that some shops are ripping people off it makes it hard for those of us who are honest with their customers. I enjoy what I do and even do it a night helping friends with their cars at no charge, its a way of life for me.

Ya I thought they sould of lasted longer too, but they didnt. I agree Stephen ,Energy makes some of the best stuff out there I think that is why I was so angry when they failed. 97mustanggt If your gonna put in the effort to replace your factory mounts upgrade to something better than stock. The stock ones are pure junk imo. Also if your motor mounts are bad give your trans mount and crossmember bushing a good inspection. Most of the cars I have had to do mounts on had a bad trans mount too.

Stick with polys unless you are a dedicated race car. Otherwise you will feel all sorts of annoying crap all the time.
