My question to the tech guys about cobras, termis, specifically.

I was drivin by a car show, saw a white cobra, stopped immediately to see to wassup. Apparently it was just some 40 year old guy with his kid just got it outta a barn find 2 months ago for 19k (whata steal right?). Says hes gettin numbers like 450-460 rwhp from just an intake and smaller pully...Legit?

I just want to know so that i know im right. Because, nicely, i called bullshit on him and he said he had the dyno sheets to prove it...

I dont know those car shows are wack thats why i was only there for two mins. I mean to prove my point there was some random guy in his 30s rockin a nice red mach1 with chrome saleens. I'm like alright, looks nice you got taste. Lost respect when it was an automatic and it had the supercharged badge under it. Of course, eagerly i run back to the engine to see if i missed it and no, hes faking it. I asked wheres the S/C and he says ohh its the black scoop, i say nooo thats the shaker hood, thats stock. Hes like oh oh i mean im getting a S/C i want to be like that guy over there, thats mean (points at the termi). Mach guy:he must put alot of work into that to make it look and run to way it does. Actually no, its completely stock except for a pulley and intake change, those things are called a terminator, there kinda rare in that shape. Machguy: ohhhhh.

Then just pretty much babbled about what kinda S/C he wanted and he didnt no vortech from hemi, seriously. I asked him if he was gonna put a hemi in it and he said no i heard vortechs better. After that comment i lit up a cig and just walked away...

But thats my rant. I just hate how people have pretty nice cars, but then dont know anything about them. But yeah, if you tech guys could answer my above question im hell-bent on being right, thanks!

But yeah I definitely believe he could have 450rwhp from a pulley and intake. It does depend on what size pully he has, I believe it.

Oh, and lol at the mach fellow.

he said it wasn't that drastic...and he personally said he doesn't do any work on it at other than maintenance. idk im retarded, but dont you need a special tool to change pulleys, especially for a S/C? Im pretty sure you do, something with the water pump like when you get a under-drive pulley system...

UDP's are different than the sc pulley.

Yes he very well could be making 450 with a 2.76 pulley, intake and exhaust on a happy dyno.

a pullied/tuned Termi can make that kind of power. Ford rated them at 390 and that was under-rated. i have seen dyno's of pullied/tuned/other bolt-on termi's making 500hp.

&&that Mach guy...wow. some peoplethese days. reminds me of a ricer mustang video i saw on here a while back.

correction: i walked away from the mach guy because well, dont need to explain. I wasn't ignorant to the cobra guy, he was a custom body work fabricator for 10 years so he wasn't shy to cars, just not technical. And okay now i know. What kinda horse/torque could he make with a full exhaust, with that CAI and pulley?
