next mod for ol machy

I just got my magnapacks installed earlier this week so so far I have the PHP intake spacer, JLT RAI, Bassani catted x, and Magnaflow Magnapacks. I was thinking next will be an SCT handheld and then a dyno tune later but this is rather expensive and will have to be done during a good time period like next week I'd probably get the tuner then probably a month from then go get the tune.

But I'm really wanting to work on the looks of the car and am getting impatient with waiting to finish my performance mods first. I want to lower the car which I'm still debating and I kinda really want black saleens but I love the stock mach wheels so much but 2 of mine look bad like someone used something on them they weren't supposed to and it messed them up.

Should I just go ahead and get the tuner and tuned so I can finally be done with performance stuff or go ahead with the looks?

id go ahead and get the tuner so that way you will be finished with your performance stuff and you can concentrate on what you really want for your looks.

Absolutely love it. Sounds so good it's not even funny. I couldn't be happier with it. It's not obnoxiously loud but it's still loud and just sounds so mean even cruising. Like 2k-3k rpms sounds like sex. I shift up around 3k when cruising just to hear it.

We have pretty much the same setup...03 yellow Mach with Bassani X, spintech catback, K&N drop in, intake spacer, and a Xcal3. I needed the tuner to get the check engine light off after the exhaust was put on. My car is an auto...is yours a stick?

I would say the tuner would be a good investment because you're gonna need it for the gears. But they also come in handy if you need to read codes or if your exhaust starts throwing codes.

Have you had yours to the track yet?

It's a 5spd. I took it to the 1/8 mi track but never ran it I got too nervous after seeing all the tar all over the other cars. Does your x have cats? Cause my check engine light came on and mine is catted but I have an OBD so I don't really need the tuner for anything other than a tune and maybe if I decide later down the road to go with gears.

I have messed up my paint pretty bad on the rear quarters fomr the track.. You do know that you don't actually have to do burnouts? Its just better when you do.

If you are worried about messing up your paint you could try reusable static cling paint protectors. I did a quick search and found them only for Corvette, but the C5 quarters are so huge they would probably be big enough to cut down for a new edge stang. There may be some already made for our cars but I didn't dig too deep into it.

yeah which I probably wouldn't do one anyways probably just get them to spin a rotation to clean them off but even going down the strip that has that tar crap all down it.

Yeah, it has cats and the light still came on. The problem was resolved with the programmer.
