Power brake booster differences from a GT and Cobra

I have a 1996 Cobra that has a leaking brake booster (hydrobooster). In searching I found the GT also uses a hydrobooster as well. From looks they look absolutely no different and the only difference I have found is the price being $100 less for the GT.

So I contacted cardone and asked them since its their part. I was told first that they are different and to basically follow what is said and get the Cobra one for $100 more. I then responded asking what the difference was and was told that the rods for the brake pedal are different. I responded again asking what was different about them ans have gotten no answer as of yet.

So I'm hope someone here can answer the question of can a 96-98 GT brake booster fit and work on a 96 cobra.

Thanks in andvance for any help!

the pushrod is a larger diameter due to the brake piston and caliper size on a Cobra. it has to move more fluid. alot of guys use their stock GT booster when they do the Cobra brake upgrade and it works fine...but you are going to need to get the rod to use the booster...my advice is to pay the extra 100 and keep your stopping distance shorter. no point in down grading.

Thank you for answering. I'll order the one specifically for the Cobra.
