I know what the code means (misfire on cylinder 7). I have changed spark plugs, switched plug wires and tested the coil pack. If I erase the code the code comes back at idle as a pending DTC and then will throw the cel while driving.

The freeze data when the pending DTC happened is as follows:

Eng Speed 1226 (I was more than likely revving the engine a bit)

Calc Load 27.5%

Coolant 199

ST FTRM1 -2.3%

LT FTRM1 22.7%

ST FTRM2 10.2%

LT FTRM2 -10.2%

Veh Speed 0

Fuel Sys1 clsd1

Fuel sys2 n/a


Does anyone have any ideas from that information?

After looking at the old plugs for all 8 cylinders for a lengthy amount of time I can say that some of the plugs are carbon fouled and others are lead (additives i guess) fouled and some are a mixture of the two. The cylinder 7 plug is both carbon and lead fouled.

The only code it's throwing is the P0307. Wouldn't a rich mixture make the car throw an additional code or more?
