Should I..?
Should I modify my car? It has 114k miles but was taken care of by previous owners. Do you think it will last me long enough to where modifying would be worth the money? I'm not talking about hard core modifying but rather minor modifications.. I want to get about 420 horse power and I think I'm at about 350

uhhh i thought i posted something in here? well idk i can't remember but i think getting to 420 horses is going to be harder than you think. Have you dyno'd the car cause i would say that you don't have 350 horsepower. 99 cobra's came with 320 horses Stock at the engine and that means you arent getting close to that at the wheels. So you'd be looking to jump 100 horsepower at least which will be pricey

You will be around 280 at the wheels give or take and actually probably a little less with that many miles on the clock, The exhaust is not good for more than a couple horse so like colby said you are looking at about 100+ motor horse jump to get to 420 and if you are talking 420 at the wheels then you are looking at least a 140 horse jump. You are not going to get that with "minor" modifications. You will need a healthy built motor to get it N/A or a supercharger or turbocharger, or a 100 shot of nitrous and bolt on's. "mild" modifications will get you just over 300 to the wheels at best

You should...but I would start to build a shortblock just in case. High mileage motors like a S/C or T/C, but they aren't too keen on nitrous. Because of the cylinder wear you are more likely to burn a ring with juice than with a S/C or T/C.

+1^ why not start modding by building a new shortblock that will be able to handle all the power you want so there is no risk of blowing the engine and then being S.O.L
