fuel filter

Ok, I've been f***king with my damn fuel filter trying to get the stupid thing off for over two hours now! I've read every write up on how to get them off and none of it is working. I bleed the fuel pressure out of the system and I'm doing this with my exhaust off for extra space but the fuel filter refuses to come off.

Is it a factory mistake where the original fuel filters are damn near impossible to get off or what?! This is just a stupid fuel filter and I'm pissed it wasting this much of my time!

I've got the quick disconnect fuel line tools and have tried three different sizes with no luck on any of them. Tried pushing the fuel lines together while I used the tool with no luck. Is there some trick that only cobra owners know? It wasn't this difficult by any means on my 95 GT

There is a disconnect under the hood before it goes to the inj. You may to try your luck on that to make sure your using the right size them try the fuel filter.

I did! Just to see if it was the tools or what and I couldn't even get that one off. I've used the tools before and they worked fine but on this car they won't do anything.

the fuel rail fitting is easier to get off than the filter. the filter side has the clips located a little further in and makes it a bitch to get out. the normal disconnects you get at the part store arent quiet long enough to make it easy, but is possible. i have a matco set that makes it a lot easier.

Ya but I think she has bad/wrong/wierd set if the fuel rail clip isn't even coming off.

yeah, i didnt think about that. the fuel rail side prectically jumps off if you get the tool close to it.

try squeezing the clip together after you put it on the line, that will let it dis-engage the locks easier. Thats what I do with mine to make it easier. If I wasn't deploying this weekend I would come there and do it for you. Just take a breath and try it again after you have calmed down. LOL
