Crossover coolant plug part#???

I've been having some trouble getting the air out of my coolant system on my 99 dohc. i believe there is supposed to be an o-ring on the plug thats on the crossover tube.

Does anyone know if there's supposed to be an o-ring on that plug - i do see a ridge for an o-ring, also whenever i contact Ford they dont seem to have any clue of what i'm referring to when i say "plug"...

Car keeps on overheating about 10-15% above the halfway mark - it never overheats completely but does run a little hot . . . i've been cycling and adding coolant as needed. everytime i take the plug out though, it seems like the coolant is to the top.

Any suggestions ? - what started the problem was a hose slipped off and let a lot of air in the system. After a radiator flush, the car now always overheats a little.

*** I did change out thermostat and water pump already.

I took mine to Ford to get the air out. There's a lot of people who do their own stuff that take it to the dealership for a fluid change just because it's so hard to get all of the air out of these DOHCs.

As for the O-ring I don't think there is one. It's just the plug.

Funny thing - I took the cobra to Ford and they attempted to bleed the system and couldnt get the air out. They just told me to do the same thing I had been doing and it will eventually work itself out...

I've never had a manufacturer tell me something like that . . . its just frustrating. Anyone else know if there is an o-ring on the plug or if they just let the ford dealership bleed the system?

ALSO - it seems like coolant is leaking out of my plug a little bit. None of the threads are messed up and i make sure its pretty snug - anyone have any idea where i can get another plug?

i dont think there is an 0-ring. i didnt' see one when i had mine out last. i let mine run and loosen it a lil and a bunch of bubbles keep coming out. then i drive the car again and stop and bleed it out again. i repeat the process over and over again. it does take a while to get all of it out.

You could have a bad cap for your reservoir. You can give Tousley Ford a call. They usually have the best dealership price you can get.

ok . . . so, in conclusion, the cobra now only overheats when cruising at low speeds (35 mph and under)

could this be radiator possibly?

Ordering an 03-04 cobra radiator. I'm also gonna pick up a new coolant reservoir (probably canton or black moroso) also with low temp t-stat.

Anybody have suggestions on coolant reservoir and also on coolant panel?
