and as for bigger spacers, wow. good luck. that was the biggest i saw when i was looking without going to a bolt on spacer.
I'll order everything up Monday. Hopefully that g2 kit is a perfect match for the red on my stoptechs. I'm going to paint the rear calipers with it too. I used the g2 kit in black on my svtf and they still look freshly painted 5 years later. the autozone kit that I used on my cobra calipers has flaked off and looks like crap.

scuff with a red scotch pad, coat of rattle can primer (I used a clear adhesion promoter), a couple coats of paint and then a coat of clear. Came out great! Mine were brand new out of the box but if I were going to paint some used wheels I would do the same thing but make sure they are very clean before you start.

well it looks like I'm proper screwed! I got the larger spacer and some more wheel studs to finish the project. when I went to remove the wheels the last lugnut didnt want to come off. come to find out the wheel stud backed out and is now spinning freely with no way for me to keep it from spinning in order to get the lug nut off. Now I'm having the same issue I had while installing them but this time with the wheel still on...............I'm trying to stay calm.

well I tried everything I could think of to get the lugnut and wheel off the driver side. decided to give up and just take it to a shop. noticed a couple of the studs were loose on the passenger side so I figured I would tighten them up and install the one missing wheel stud (got stuck and I had to cut it off last time) and the stinking thing did it again!!!! Now it's stuck with a stack of washers and a lugnut on it and the other side is stuck with a wheel I cant get off. Time to get the sawzall out and cut the dang thing off again. Then it's off to the wheel shop to see if they can do a better job because obviously this simple install isnt for me..............I can gut the entire car in one weekend and rebuild the motor, fuel system, exhaust, suspesion, etc, etc but I cant get wheel studs installed to save my a$$.

My cobra is on the cusp of being put up for sale. I hardly ever get to drive her, cant haul my boy around in her, and she fights me every step of the way.

damn dude. that sucks ass! sorry to hear it. i used my air impact and had no issues at all when i did mine. and i used the same method you did. maybe using an air impact on a higher PSI was my saving grace? i swore it took my like 20 minutes per side, and i take my time when i do things.

my electric impact gave me nothing but problems. I even used a cheater bar when trying it by hand and just couldnt get them sucked all the way in. The shop just called and got the wheels off but jacked up the shank lugs and need 5 more wheel studs. I only have 4 spares. Looks like I will be having the stock wheel studs tossed back in and will go another route. I think it's the offset washer crap that has to be used with the front runners that is causing the most problems at this point. Looks like these will be up for sale and I will be getting steve to make me a true forged big/little setup.

stock wheel studs are back on along with my chicanes. I'll be putting the drag stars up for sale and going a different route that wont require wheel studs or spacers. Gotta measure the overall diameter of my stoptech brakes and make sure the True Forged drag pack will work.

For sure! The offset washer crap is just too much of a PITA. Who knows. I might just sit on them for a while and then try it again later. All I do know is I will NOT be the one doing the install. I think alot of my frustration is because I hardly ever get to enjoy the car and when I do get time off I spend it with the car fighting me every step of the way. I need to focus on getting a new DD anyway.

well I finally got some bolt on spacers and went with some more expensive and hopefully higher quality lug nuts (mcgard (sp?) vs. summit)............so far so good. I have the cobra up on stands for the winter while I sell parts and upgrade. I'll update with some new pics next time I have a chance to get her out and rolling on them

slapped everything on today to go cruise around and burn all the corn out of the tank so I can pull and upgrade my fuel system. Decided to take a couple quick pics.
