Vortech supercharger for a 96 Cobra

What are your oppinions onthis Vortech s/c from americanmuscle.com? I can get it for 3695.00 with a discount. I'm looking for something simple and I hear that centrifugals are alot better for b heads. My car is all stock besides a short throw and flowmaster catback. I'm just looking for more power as a daily driver and some more fun so I can toy around with the new cars now a days. I'll be adding a frpp aluminum drivesfadt and some msd coil packs and igniton coils. My engine can handle the extra power right? I'm not looking into doing any more upgrades if I were to get a s/c; and I beleive 450 hp is enough for me at this time.

Any thoughts?

Do it. I had the v-1 s-trim and I upgraded to a T-Trim. Easy to install, of you know what you are doing. you can do it in about 4-6 hours if it is your first time doing one, I took me about 2 hours to put mine in. the kit looks like it comes with everything that you would need, though I would still recommend getting it tuned after the install...I don't trust tunes that aren't written on a dyno

i made 460 on my old supercharged setup. it didn't last very long, so make sure u get a good dyno tune like suggested above.

With 442 plus a 20% added drivetrain loss, it comes to about 530. So with 530 at the crank, could my stock block handle it? And what about my t45 with about 470 crank tq?

yes the engine blew. it was runnin too lean with a canned tune, u need a dyno tune. the stockt trans is only rated to 320-350ft/lbs of torque. my trans is screwed uptoo. synchros are goin out and i have a bent input shaft. u can run about 450 max with stock internals but it wont last very long if u beat on it alot. trans prolly wont last too long either. it all depends on ur driving style and how many miles are on it.
