So after some long thought..

I decided that the only mods I am gonna do to my car is gears (probably 3:73s) aand a short throw shifter. I am a student and cant afford for mods to end up blowing something in the car and putting me out of a car. Question is what do I need to od to make the car last? Again it has 115k miles, but was taken care off. I just put a new fuel filter, serpentine belt, all 4 brake pads and rotors, and some mil eliminators. what else needs to be done

nothing much really, just full maint. check/change plugs, check/flush coolant system, and stay on top of everything else as they come.

What he said, and don't waste time with 3.73s, but at least 4.10s in it.

If you put on a CAI, make DOUBLE sure to never, ever drive anywhere NEAR ANY standing water.

I have now know (personally) two people that have nice viewing holes in their blocks all because of CAI's.

Interesting..... for our caes the cold air intKe is by the head light on passanger side. I dont know how you could get water there unless you thing you have a 4x4 and go into mud puddles and stuff like that.

I've wondered the same thing. The stock intake draws air from the same location so I don't know why it would make any difference, it's just that the filter is moved.

I suppose that would make a bit of a difference. My old RX-7 had a CAI that fed behind an unused fog light opening. I used to beat the hell out of that car and skip it over flooded roads. I'm surprised I didn't fluid lock the engine now that I know better.

Thankfully I know better now and my Mustang CAI isn't quite so poorly located.

Anything over the wheel is a dangerous. Just be careful.

1 viewing hole in a teksid block is enough...2 is enough for a horror story...
I seldom take my GT out in the rain, and when I do, I use streets that I know....not ones with unknown puddles.

Those teksid blocks are precious, and I need one when I start my build
