How much do you have to spend? with a 98 cobra you already have an amazing block and rods. You should swap out rods and pistons, and look into a turbo or something.

Yeah best bet would be to do a turbo on your motor. With forged pistons/rods, and a nice turbo, you should be able to hit that.

the only thing im worried about is my cobra being street able im the only one that drives it but still. most of the experience with doing performance builds is with superchargers such as procharger and kennybell. turbos would be something different its good food for thought

should be fine with a turbo on the street, its not like its always boosting like a supercharger.

6 grand is not enough for 750whp... you will need at least 2500 bucks for a transmission a clutch alone.. you need to bullet proof the bottom end and more than probably do some head work to take advantage of masive boost. so if you do everything your self thats about 6500bucks and you still need a turbo or blower. turbo might be cheaper. but still about 5 to 6 grand.. on the turbo setup and still need another grand for fuel setup plus rear end needs to be beefed up...at least it will take about 1200bucks for the rear if you want to take advantage of that power.
sorry i didnt see that you had 9 inch rears.. never mind the rear then.. still need a transmission and clutch.

forge the rotating assembly and machine work 3000 ish for good guts and machine work, then get you one of the new mmr sheet metal intakes, 1200 and throw a fogger kit of say 250-300 on a 10:1 motor and you have the best of both worlds, good street power, but when you wanna dick slap someone turn the juice on and bam there you got

yeah you will never go wrong with juice..i think that anything over a 250shot is not as reliable as a turbo even on a forged motor.. nitrous can be a sneaky mofo. but if the fuel is right and all the safety features are good it should be fine.. direct port multy stage setup. 175 plust a 125 for second stage.

[QUOTE=manolith;3017649]cool.. what transmission do you have?[/QUOT
its a toss up i have a built toploader i took out of my torino and i have a built t5 that a customer never paid for i much perfer the 5 speed. and i love the twin disk clutch systems. i do like using spray i had it on my camaro the only problem i have with the spray is even with a good safe tune using spray can still go wrong. and i think im going to go with ether the turbos or the supercharger. im thinking 18 psi out of a KB mammoth blower or twin turbos with 20 psi. i am caging the car so im planing on more boost on race day. what do you guys think about spraying off the line with twin turbos or would it be a bad idea |

turbos are just as bad, waste gate spring breaks or gets soft and boom boost spike and spilled guts out the block

and if you do a turbo setup. Do a large single turbo, twins are not worth it.

I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around why anybody would want to drive a 750+ horsepower car on the street. It sounds good on paper, and it's cool to toss around the numbers in a conversation, but actually driving the car can be rather stressful! You get caught by surprise in the rain, or hit an oil slick on the road, hell, just hitting the gas, and you're not really sure which way that sucker is going jump and fishtail, and trust me, it will fishtail, no matter what kind of suspension and tires you put on it!
Good luck with your project! |

Lets just clear a few minor details up
Turbo lag is almost a thing of the past now with ball bearing turbos. Also when you are racing at the track you should have the turbo and the rest of the car setup to launch in boost. You should never be out of boost unless you are not racing. |
