Clutch or Flywheel?

Having an issue with my 96 vortech cobra, when accelerating it sometimes bogs down and feels like something is slipping cause it wont get the power to the wheels, shop said its the clutch and flywheel and it would cost 900.00 to get an upgraded one w/install. any help?
