running and free revving issues

those of you who know i had some issues with my cobra a few months ago

i got it back on the road but another problem arose from it

it has had replaced....

fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
fuel filter
crank position sensor
engine coolant temp sensor
battery

i cleaned the maf

its a pro m racing maf. i called them and they told me how to clean it

so this is the issue.

if i free rev it SOMETIMES it will rev to like 2k fall down to idle and if i rev again the engine will shut off

(the revving has to be almost back to back to make the engine stall)

the other issue is if i shift at like 2k it will pause for a second like it lost fuel pressure and then pick back up strong

i have to shift at like 3k to keep this from happening

the little boot on the return line on the sending unit was corroded to i took it off

other note it runs fine down the interstate

if it helps at all the previous owner told me the altenator is new but my voltage gauge fluctuates from the middle to lowish not to the 8 but low

any thoughts on what could be wrong

take alt to part store and have it checked, its free. if its good, then start looking at the wires to and from the alt and their connections.

get a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to see what the fuel pressure is doing. i would also check vacum lines and iac as well.

im assuming the fuel pressure is good at wide open throttle it pulls like its suppose to but only at 2k rpm shift it will pause.

i tried to rent a fuel pressure gauge but they want 140 bucks to rent it.

ill do the altenator and go from there.

it all started when the car sat for a week in the garage while i was out of town

it wouldnt start so i went hunting for the issue
