stock eaton with 2.9" pulley

Im hoping to do the stock termie blower swap onto my GT. i've found a guy selling the tork tech kit with blower, intercooler and all that good stuff. right around 2 grand. its got a 2.9" pulley on it, and so im wondering how much psi these blowers make with this pulley.

From what i've researched its around 13ish maybe?

I've also read that lot of people have belt slippage with this size. opinions?

Sorry for the newb-ish question. any help is appriciated!

yeah, those do tend to slip. reichard racing makes a non slip pulley that i would suggest over that one...

thats the pulley i hear most people using (the RR one). do you have a guys on what kind of boost it should be pushing (roughly) with a 2.9" pulley?

Use caution with this kit as it makes enough torque to ruin your transmission. With 13.5 lbs that's gonna be near 400 rwhp easy and like 460+ rwtq from what i've heard.

since i've already go over 325 rwhp i would hope this kit would put me well over the 400 hp mark.

And i've already started planing my drive train build.

As long as you get a 100mm aux idler you should be fine and shouldn't slip. I run a cheap ass 2.8 pulley from summit with no slip issues, and I make 13psi.

Awsome! He told me that the kit comes with the tork tech lower pulley that helps with the slippage? Hell after talking with him on the phone last night i realized its a member here on the forums haha.

i ditched my idler when i got the RR pulley. and sure the lower will help, but it can still slip on the upper pulley. saw this happen plenty on the dyno on my old setup before the non slip pulley. but then, again, i am running a 2lb lower so i am spinning the blower a wee bit faster...

It can definitely happen, I just have never had that problem, my room mate has a 2.76 with just 100mm idler and his doesn't slip either, but if I ever decided to throw a lower on I would probably go with the billetflow 4pc kit.

You throw a 4psi lower with a 2.8 upper you will be over spinning the blower like crazy and will fuck up the sc rotors in couple of hundred miles. As for the tensioner even with a richard 2.8 you need to run 100mm even if you dont think your not loosing boost and not slipping you are. It wont even spike to full boost and definitely wont be holding as much boost as it should.

Your making it sound as if the T56 wont handle, 400rwhp and 440 lbs of torque maybe not 460hp with just the 2.9, when People have ran 600hp to 800hp for 8 months to year with Kennes before they needed to rebuild the trany. Sounds like you have never power shifted either cuz your scared you might break it and treating it like a T45.

The T56 will handle 500hp all day long just as long as you dont have Mikey slicks and launch it at 5k at the track you should more than fine. And full tilt boogie makes a badass reinforcement kit for the IRS which will allow you to launch the car at 5k with Mikeys for while.

lmao, thats silly, people run a 2.8 4lb combo all day long with no issues. And I would absolutely think Az would know if he was losing boost.

yeah, considering we tapped the vacuum line and read the boost when i dyno'd it last.

and i have heard of people running that pulley combo. its over spinning the blower a little, but they are seeing good power gains. just can't hot lap it at the track or on the street.
