How not to hurt your car for newbie

So i hope this wears off, but seem to have trouble keeping my foot out of the throttle ..99 Cobra. Just wondering if there is a "4v for dummies" link. Like an only a jackass would drive their car like that. Where is the stock rev limiter. Whats considered a safe shifting point for the 4v. With a stock tune, I assume the rev limiter will not let you do too much damage. I mean, Im not a total idiot, but if it bangs the revlimiter on occasion, im guessing no worries. Maybe im wrong. It's fun, but i dont want to kill it b/c i don't know how to drive a muscle car. Basically. looking for keep your car under x rpm and its relatively safe. From what i read, peak is around 6000 so shifting around 6300 is ideal. But by all means, let me have.. Something in the vain or "only a retard would". 1/4 mile for suckers. It can only help.

btw,,, love my freaking car.... cant imagine a terminator.. but i cant complain.

Well don't dip too far into the redline or you can float valves. Maybe 100 or 200 into will be fine, but going too far may not possible damage the engine but really has no point because the engine won't make much power that high and would yield better performance just going into the next gear and back into your power band.

just some info from a little 2 valve

you can redline all day long with everything stock.... is pointless to hit the redline tho.

it will wear off, if you beat on it all the time you eventually get used to the "fast" feeling, so i try to not get on it in my termi except every once in a while, that way it still suprises me how much its got. and def. keep an eye on all your fluid levels, and keep them fresh and clean.

the key: NO POWERSHIFTING!

keep your foot off the accelerator pad when not in a gear.

feel free to rev as much as you want when in gear.

tremec t45's and 3650's just are too weak.
