Nitrous on 96-98 cobras

I am wondering if anyone is running spray on a stock-mild bolt on cobra in the above years. I am just wondering what to expect if i decide to do it. Reason being is my cobra has 138,xxx miles on it and it doesnt make much sense to do any major engine modding on the engine the way it is, i am planning on an engine build next year and am considering bottle feeding it until then. Any thoughts are welcome.

Hey as for a educated guess i cant say but i am putting a 100 shot on mine. But im also bought a 40,000 97 cobra motor and adding 03 cobra heads and fr500 intake. I was told a 100 shot would be fine take for what its worth i guess.

Well the fr500 intake has been a almost two year saving a hunting. i got it about 12 months ago from a guy who already had one on his mach, and decided to sale the second instead of putting it on the wifes car!! It was a long drawn out process..

Wet nitrous is bad

Pooling will always happen, and I've seen a 50 shot destroy a perfectly working cobra intake.

Plus, the rods hate nitrous. :/

I would go dry and have some way to lock the injectors open....

To play it safe......

100 dry shot, 42lb injectors, and a bigger pump. Don't get greedy with the timing and it should last....but start saving for a bottom end.

If I were you I would poke your head on the Mach1 Registry, there is a guy by the name of Roy Cole who does some great port work on Mach1 intakes. I would buy one, with some ported Cobra heads, and some aggressive cams. I personally like the Crower N.A 4v cams....

the stock cobra intake performns very well, but if you really want to, go ahead I guess.

My dream is a teksid kellogg crank oliver rod 5.0 stroker topped with fr500c heads and intake.

The intake alone is worth it!! The injectors are in the middle and face directly towards the back of the valve.

Speaking from experience it is not the nitrous that does the damage its the people using it, get a safe tune and a wat switch and your fine, im running mine a 100 shot on my 03 mach 1 and its been on for about 6 month and have been through 6 10ilb bottles and its still running like a champ, like i said wet is the way to go.. NOTHING BETTER FOR THE MONEY

dry is the more "dangerous" route.....how you came up with wet being more dangerous is BEYOND me

Just found this on youtube

pretty much exactly what happened to my friends cobra except he was on the highway.
I luled so hard when i found bits of metal everywhere. I first thought he threw a rod.

You will NEVER have a backfire with a dry system.
