Should I Get A T56?

ok so i just got a good deal on a used t56, but i'm not sure if i want to buy it cause the 3650 i have has better ratios in the gears and i feel that getting that in extra gear is not worth it. I have 4.10's in the rear and i'm afraid that changing the gear ratio in the trans will make these rear gears worthless. I don't know too much about trannys yet so any input would be awesome! Also if everything sounds good to me and i buy it what all do i need off the donor car to make this work? Thanks guys

t56 is great.. just get 4.30s or 4.56 gears. the only think i hate about the 3650 is really the stupid overdrive fifth gear. if it had a decent or useful 5th gear then i would say that is not worth to get a t56.

i just put in the 4.10's like 2 weeks ago. and spend like a grand on parts and install. I actually like the 0.620 ratio in the 3650 5th gear. the only reason i am thinking about it is cause of the deal i can get and the fact that my third gear slightly grinds sometimes

well you can have a built 3650 for about 1600 bucks if you like them so much.. ofcourse thats with a 26spline input shaft and upgraded syncos and beefed shift fork. they can handle over 700hp. i have one and i like it but i hate 5th gear. i actually hate it alot.

well you have to pull your transmission and install the new one. they will ask you to turn yours in as a core and then you get the built one. i got mine from promotion powertrain. i paid a bit more for mine because i had a broken bellhousing and i also got a short shifter from them.. i paid 1990 bucks for everything but the transmission by itself is about 1600-1700 bucks. you will need a new clutch disk if you do go with the 26 spline input shaft which is a must.

I just got a T56 put in my car. Today was the first day I drove it. First gear seems twice as long as the 3650. The nice thing is I'm not spinning leaving the line on street tires like I did with the M5, but I'm running a little more power than the average N/A Mach/Cobra so that's nice. And I already love the 5th gear in this thing. It's perfect in those 45-50 MPH zones.
