highest boost in 07 gt500


hey guys wondering whats the highest boost you can run in an 07 gt500? thinking bout tossing a smaller supercharger pulley and an overdrive pulley for the crank just want to be safe while doing it

18 to 20psi is the flow and rotor limit on that blower. If you want the badest ported charger and 600hp Steigemeier sells the Snake bite kit for the Shelby with 18psi on 2.2 upper pulley which is 2593 its not cheap but it is the the medium ground between Kenne Bell sinse its 5k for 2.8 Kenne. I have stage 5 ported steigy and I made 520hp with stock plenum and tb with bad 02s no CAI and rich tune. If I would have had the Acufab tb and plenum I would have easily made 560hp which is what Iam missing on my setup.

Don't worry about boost numbers. Get you a POSI port, a 2.65 upper, and a lower if you really want to crank it, and be happy with 600 horses.

Your not going to see 560 rwhp by adding an aftermarket tb/plenum. 40 RWHP for that? Erm..... Id say you could see 535rwhp at most.

Of course he shouldnt worry about boost numbers RIGHT cuz boost only equals the amount of power you want to make. Sure tell him to put a 2.65 with a port which only would give you 3 psi on top of the stock 13 which is 16psi and would only give you maybe 560hp which you would still missing the extra 2 psi to get up to 600hp, but your not talking in account that when you port the charger your boost goes down retard which is why Steigmeir needs to use a 2.2 upper to get up 18psi which like I said is the limit of the rotors and flow of the charger and can than get the 600hp which he is looking for. Since he clearly aksed what is the maximum amount of boost you go with the Stock charger. And its not like Stiegmier doesnt know what they are doing right they have only been porting eatons since the day 03 04 Cobra first came out.

Wow sounds like you just as smart as weems. First off yes I would becuase like I said I have stage 5 ported Stiegy which people have reached to 550 with Acufab ported Plenum and Tb wihout the biggest custom Comps cams that you can fit a 4.6 hence my sn and signature, which I have and will give me the extra 40 to 45 horse power combined with the Acufab Plenum and Tb. Not to mention again like I said I dont even have CAI and made 520hp with bad 02s, rich tune, and intercooler leak. So yes I would have seen 560hp with the tb and pleum since my cams are asking for air they are getting and add a JLT on top of that I would easily been able to even get up to 580hp.

Please read previous posts before posting your self.

Yeah, but porting it will make it flow much better which will make you not need as much boost to yield better gains. Think about having a small straw. You have to put more force to get a lot of air through it. Not take a bigger straw, its easier to move just as much or more air through there with less effort. PSI numbers don't mean shit really. A car that has great flowing heads and intake with 3 psi would put out more power with the same type of car with stock heads and intake running say 9 psi.

You are so fucking retarded its unbelievable. Boost DOES NOT dictate power, boost is only a measurement of restriction. If you add headers and a port you will lose boost, but will you lose power? FUCK NO. End of story, do you really want to keep getting into it with me about shit like this?

Boost psi does not always reflect power. I have a 2.93 upper and 6lb lower with steggy stage 4 and stock tb and jlt cold air and stock exaust manifolds and I make 18 lbs of boost. I am right at 500 hp. Mine was tuned with an 4r70w and now has the six speed. Guy I know has a kenne bell 2.4 and he made less boost but had longtubes and made 592.
