top speed?

I was driving the other day on a nice open straightaway on the back roads and the top speed i got was like 120-130 in 4th not near redline. is the governor set there?

not 100% sure why id get flamed anyway.

1997 Mustang Cobra Specification

4th can get to 152 supposedly and it says top speed is 152. if my car is bogging down and not able to get past 120ish im worried something is being a hinderance or wrong wiht it. no i dont intend on driving that fast but i wanna know i can.

97 cobra. road was even slight decline for a long ways. plenty of length to get up to speed, or so i thought

our cars do not do well in crashes in general... at that speed no cars does. be careful.

with that being said, I have no idea the top speed of your car. All i can find is the 152.

i got a 97 fastest ive gone mmm bout 125 ive got gears and i know my speedo is wrong so thats a guestimate...dam 152 will be insane...u know wat, ive done 130 i remember now...i feel safer doing 130 in the lightning than in the cobra thats for sure.

im not worried about reaching the top speed as much as i wanting to know if theres something installed preventing it or if its my engine not running properly.

Yea, there is something wrong there. Everyone else said something about not to drive that fast so I won't state it again. I have had a stockish (99-04)GT up past 140mph 141 to be exact, so you may have an issue. Not that you need to worry about that issue because you won't be seeing these speeds again anytime soon right?
