running less timing is a big mistake.

Most of the fuel is still burning when it leaves these cylinders, which makes the headers/exhaust manifolds glow.

This will lead to premature weld failures and/or engine overheating.

I was correct by saying what I have said. Sean Hyland is not the end all be all for Modular engines. Just because he believes something doesn't mean it's the only way.
i was saying i was opinionated.

I am pulling facts out here.

Call MMR up. They agree with sean as well.

There is a limit on that end too, as you mentioned. Running 20 lbs of boost and 2* of timing is a very bad way to keep detonation in check. Its all about the balance. If you keep the timing over about 12* at WOT you shouldn't have too many issues. If you plan on high speed texas mile runs, you would want less boost and more timing.

i was running 13* of timing and 10-10psi on my car. Car good and was safe for a stock motor.

My point proven procharged

I plan on running 13.5cc dishes on a 5.0 stroker to make my compression around 9.3:1 and read to be procharged.

This is in agreement with mmr's salt flat mustang (I can't remember who they built it for). Drag racers can run more compression especially with a centrifugal supercharger

I know of a car with a 10.1:1 CR with a t8847 turbo and running 25plus psi. Its a drag car.

So are do you suggest for timing with your CR and what type of boost?

The engine would go bye bye if 93 was fed into the behemoth.

I'm not understanding the question correctly.

Are you asking how much timing I would want to run?
Probably at redline wot upper teens.

Don't get me wrong, you can run a centrifugal supercharged cobra @ 10:1 compression and above on pump gas.

Just don't take it out on an open road and run 6 miles wot.

moreover, timing is based on a variable amount of factors, so these are just numbers thrown out in the dark

I am wondering/asking. I am going to be doin my own tuning on my car this spring and learning when I can. I mean I have people to help but I am wanting to try and do it myself.

it is really quite simple...

only paying for dyno time is a heck of a lot cheaper than paying the tooner as well...

What software will you be using?
