Ignition for 97 Cobra
I have a 97 Cobra and am looking to upgrade ignition. Mods on car are 2.1L KB s/c running 6-7 psi boost, Kooks headers and x pipe Magnaflow exhaust, Acufab Oval TB, 90mm MAF, 42# injectors, JLT CAI, MSD coil packs and wires, and other stuff. I am looking at MSD DIS-4 plus. I have used MSD 6AL in the past but never on mod motor. Does anyone have this ignition or a set up similar, Please chime in?

the 6al isnt compatable with the modulars i believe. dual dis4's, msd stacker, boost-a-spark, are the more common upgrades. you can go with a totally different ignition set up, but more money than its worth.

no, too expensive. i doing some thinking bout what ignition system i going to put on my car as well, but no conclusion. i did run the plasma booster for a while till it crapped out on me. i am leaning towards the stacker or the boost-a spark. more than likely, i will end up with the stacker8.
now that i think about it, i dont think the stacker will work on the 96-98 set ups.

looks like the stacker will work, but it is kind of hard to find. the stock ignition system is fair, mpg will not show much gain, but if spark blow out is an issue then there is power to be had. honestly, i dont think i would bother with ignition system till you start pushing more power.
