4v 4.6 engines
as some of you might know i work at a salvage yard. so i can get my hands on a few diff 4v 4.6 engines. my question is which on these would be the bettter bet for a 4v wap in my car? reps for any help!
03 aviator for $1000 97 markViii for $500 i know ill have to get a cobra intake or something similar for either one but what other things would i also need? any help or opinions would be reped!

aviator will work but the manifold wont clear the hood. The aviator motor is the same as an auto mach, so any part thats good on the mach will work on the aviator.

97 mark VIII is the teksid block? i know this has been posted alot, but which years of markVIII had the teksid blocks? i wanna build a spare up hardcore.

94-00 Mark 8's. Look for the grid iron pattern in the valley (tic tac toe). That means a teksid. Diamond pattern means a WAP block.

so if this 98 markviii engine is a teksid block i should go with that one? or is the aviator one still the better engine?
and what all parts do i need for the swap? all the engines have the throtle bodies and harneses on them, so i need to know what other things i need so i can start planning this

To be honest I would go with whichever one has less miles, appears to be complete. You can get a Mach intake anywhere. What are your power goals? Unless you plan on seeing more than 600rwhp I say the WAP is just fine.

get the mark viii core
teksid block is saved from the crusher....dont give it to kimo! ![]() The aviator heads really dont flow that much more over the 4.6 b heads anyway |

markviii engine has 197k on it lol ( seeing that my car has 50k on it ill go with the aviator engine
power goals, nothing to crazy just have something with some more kick than i got, maybe a cobra eaton set up in the future :idk:

if it's oil was changed on a regular basis, it will last another 100k. high milage mark viii's are junked mostly because the trannies give out. |
