800 to 900 I have heard/see...the pistons are the weakest part of the forged block.

I read thay there was a guy that got 1100whp on the stock shortblock. Is probably a dyno queen but those shortblocks are damn near indestructible.

So you could easily run 600hp all day long with no problems? Cause some cars can handle 500hp but for a month or so

unless you have a retarded tuner that dosnt know what spark timing is you shouldnt blow at 500 or 600whp.

Exactly! It's all about how deep your pockets are, not how much power the car can handle!

I have heard that the stock pistons and rods can hold up to around 6xx/6xx at the tire. Sure every car is different, but if you're like me and you see a lot of track time then I wouldn't push it that if you're not ready to rebuild soon.

I would be willing to bet that most of the examples that you have been mentioning are dyno queens.

Turbo cobras have a higher threshhold for power than supercharged cobras.

That being said the clutch is only good for about 500 hp . . . At least for a little while anyways.

It would be worth it to upgrade the pistons/rods if you are planning on going over 650hp correct?

Not to me. If you set up right I think the stock internals will handle it.

I'd be more worried about the tranny before the engine.
