i do not know specifically because i do not own a 96-98 cobra but what you lose in low end torque you should gain in high end horsepower

Tuned you wont loose hardlly anything. I know you need to add around 5-6* of timing under 3500rpm when you delete them on the 3.8l.

if you are going to put a blower on then remove them. they are a restriction when you boost. take them suckers out. modularmustangracing.com sells delete kits.

Just add timing in the low end as someone above mentioned. When I did my shortrunner and IMRC delete I lost ZERO torque because I added timing. No IMRC's and a shortrunner I have almost 300rwtq.

When the blower goes on you won't even feel it.

It sounds like they are just so gummed up they dont function.

Personally I would just clean them.
The reason they get so gummed up is because of the egr.
Delete the egr and you wont have problems.

I'd definitely delete them when you add boost.

For right now you can try seafoaming a couple times, and see if that doesn't get 'em freed up (just do the vacuum system, don't waste it in the fuel or crankcase).

i've done it.

b heads would especially benefit form a seafoam.

Dont bother pouring it into your gas tank or crankcase (thats just pure stupidity to me)

Just let it idle and pour the entire contents of the seafoam into a vacuum hose. Don't let it die...

Once there is none left, shut of the car for 5 min.

Then start it up and watch what comes out of the exhaust!
