Pulley swap on 04 Cobra
My cars relatively stock other than a CAI, borla stingers, and a tune. I was looking into doing an upper pulley swap either a 2.93 or 2.76. I wanted to know if there was anywhere else better to start with. And other than a tune if I was to do the swap do I need to upgrade anything to do with air or fuel?

yes definately a tune after pulleys.. I sugest a 2.93 (5lb.) upper and a 4lb. lower.. should yeild 15-18psi.. and feel damn good.. I will also highly reccomend a port from Posi Performance.. well worth every cent

how is the lower swap versus the one thats on a lightning. thats what i had before this and I was gonna do a lower swap but saw it was a bit of a bitch. I figured I'd go with the billetflow package and get the 2.93 and 2.76 non slip. Just run the 2.76 upper. Then once I got bored with that I'd swap to the 2.93 upper get the port job and get a 4lb lower. I just wasn't sure if the fuel system or maf would need upgraded. I'm pretty new to the supercharger scene. I only had my lightning 6 months before I ran across my cobra. Then before that was a foxbody which seems to be a whole different world.

the lower is now that bad, however you will soon learn that nothing is really "easy" on a cobra. I have a Metco setup with idlers on mine and it works great.. and there is no such thing as "non slip" with a 2.76.. with a diameter that small you will have slip regardless of how many 100mm idlers you put on. I also run a LFP heat exchanger and have twin GT fuel pumps(supercar GT, walbro 255). I personally do not like the Gatorback belt that everone tries to push, they still slip and tend to split down the middle of the groove due to the lack of material on the belt. I use a Gates Micro V.. works excellent. If you get the port done buy a single blade throttle body and plenum(Dragon or Accufab) so it will be port mached and have the lower intake done too.. makes for a badass setup

i did a lower pulley swap on my lightning and it was easy. the cobra uses the same set up but since it is a stick you dont have to lock the converter to get the crank nut loose. to avoid belt slip i would throw the biggest lower on so you dont have to shrink the upper so much. you will need bigger injectors if you pulley it down to much. along with a bap, and mafia extender

Do not do a lower and an upper until you have a port. Do one or the other.
2.81 or 2.76 with idlers and a tune should yeild anywhere between 450-470 rwhp and 460-485 TQ (with exhaust and intake). All depends on the car and the weather. I also do not believe the accufab or dragon products are worth it unless you have a Posi race port for example, as it wont really matter until you can make your eaton more efficient. IMO, get a 2.76 and some idlers, and save for a whipple/kb/tvs/m122 kit. I made 451/456 with catback, x pipe, intake, 2.93, and a tune. It was a hot ass day too.

No I'd only go the lower route if I was going to do a port. I learned that much from having the lightning. I'm just trying decide on where I want to go with this that's why I just wanted to start with and upper and decide weather to stick with the eaton or step to the kb/etc. The dyno sheet from it's last tune has it at 422 right now. I also figured a TB is not much help without a port. I just want something to give it a little more ass. If I was to just do a lower what would be best?
