Buying Cobra tomorrow but need advice/answer

I posted this on BuckeyeStangs but I figure that you guys may have an answer to this.

Buying a Super clean 99 cobra tomorrow and the car was in phenomenal condition. Cleaner than I could have imagined. Well.. Everything was perfect except 1 thing....

When we drove around, there was a distinct whine coming from what I thought to be in front of us.(Front-left to be exact) It only happened when we decelerated (I believe) and sounded slightly like a super-charger whine, but not as loud (very similar pitch)

The guy suggested that he thinks the front-driver side wheel may need another alignment.

The sound did come from that general area but I thought I would post up here to see if it is a common problem. I have looked it up and found all sorts of things.

Any advice or guesses as to what it could be? I know you can't tell without hearing it but thought I would ask.
Thanks

alignment, no.

could be plenty of things but hard to tell without hearing it, feeling it, driving it, etc. may be something like a hub assembly, tire rub, etc.

What mods are done to the car's drivetrain if any? Aftermarket clutch, flywheel, or shifter?

Here are the "Goodies":

1999 svt cobra

4.6 -32 valve - v8
5 speed
50,00 miles
flowmaster exhaust
caster/camber plates
lowered 1 1/2 eibach springs
carbon fiber airbox
short throw shifter

Update: Well I just drove it home and it was about an hour drive.

I noticed it only has a slight whine when in Second.

Picture this:

1. I give the car some gas in second and it starts "pushing" like normal.
2. When I let off the gas, there is that normal sensation of the front dropping down a little and the RPM's naturally going down as well. That is when the sound is noticed. It will slowly "whine" down until I give it gas again.

It really doesn't sound annoying or bothersome, but I would rather be safe.

Could be the transmission...

I would use that as a bargaining chip

Sounds like a noise mine makes, which from what I've figured out, is a problem with my 1st gear synchro. It hasn't given me any trouble and I've put almost 10k miles on it since I bought it.

Most likely a similar issue as I have no trouble at all with it.

Thanks for the responses. I will come back here if the problem progresses.
