Is that one of the welded studs on the header to midpipe flange connector? You could drill it out and use a regular bolt, but it will be a pain to hold the other side.

I wouldn't do that. It may make it weak, then it will bend and you wont get a good seal. Is the midpipe removed? Its hard to tell in that picture. You can remove the headers too. Its a pain, but its not that bad.

it is a very thick flange though and it would only be outside the nut. id leave most of the rest intact

alright went to ford to order a new stud.
apparently it is actually a bolt.

i just gotta figure out how to get it out.

I cant really afford to not have my car for more than a day on the weekend.
and every shop i called wants to put it on a lift first to look at it.

i figure someone has had to back one of these fuckers out.
i have access to a lift and every tool except for a welder on base.
i have 8 hours to do it on a sunday.
someone suggested putting nuts on it to back it out.
Could that even work wouldnt it tighten it in?

Are they stock manifolds? Can you buy a set on ebay and replace the bad one? Then fix the one you have now a sell the set.
