belt slip..

Quick question..i'm about to put my ported blower on, it has a 2.76 pulley on it. The idler pulley is on back order till next week, but i have plans to put the blower tomorrow. Will i be able to safely drive it (out of boost) until next week. That's when i will have the idler pulley on and get ready for the tune.

if you arent tuned for the pulley, then wait for the tune.

its an idler pulley.

Basically if you don't have it on, your belt will slip off track and f everything up.

he sayin he getting ported blower with a 2.76 on it. i just stating that if there is no tune for the 2.76, then dont run the car. the idler isnt a big deal. not a likely chance belt will slip off and mess anything up, but just slip and not give constant boost.

with the idler pulley off there would not be enough tension, and the belt would gather slack.

Not a good idea.

you have to run a shorter belt to run the 2.76, so there's not as much slack as you may think. the tensioner mod is a good idea as well when doing mods like that. an idler is not a must just to drive on, but a must to get good belt wrap and limit the slip.

and i also thinking about an aux idler. if this is the stock idler, then DO NOT DRIVE.

Yea i decided to just wait until i have everything on there, rather than risk it. I was looking at billetflow set ups... any idea of what size belt is needed/recommended for 2.76?

A 74-74.5 is needed for a 2.76 with a 100mm aux idler.
