New mach 1 member

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and was just looking for some opinions. I recently purchased a 2003 mach 1, and love it to death. The only problem(which i dont see a problem with) is that it has no cats on it. It have borla stinger exhaust with o/r x pipe and it is pissing everyone off. Cops are all over my case because i'm only 18! Just wondering if putting cats on would make any difference to the tone or the rasp of the exhaust. If it doesn't im not going to change it because i absolutely love it! Let me know your guys' opinions on what you think i should do.

Yes a catted pipe will quiet it down some and mellow it out, but fuck everyone else is what I always say

Yeah, it will 'help' but even if you put a standard mid-pipe with cats it's still going to be loud with an aftermarket catback. People are still going to bitch about it. That's what people do. Weems is right, fuck everyone else. You wouln't make them all happy no matter what you do.

I say start looking for some long tube headers. That'll really get people excited.

Agreed. My mother-in-law's neighbor always complained about me "going too fast" down their subdivision road. Turns out they were judging my speed by the sound of my car. I told her I go 25 in the 25 if not a hair slower because there are a bunch of kids always running around on the street. I told her I'd drop down to 20 if they wanted and drive through in first. But I warned her that I'd be louder. I never heard another peep.

Screw what other people think. Just stick to the rules of the road while you're in town and the police will more than likely leave you alone.

haha yeah that's what i am thinking, i'll do what i want. I know what you mean about people judging you speed by the sound, i get it everyday haha. Thanks for the reply guys, i'll prob just leave it and let them deal with it.

Enjoy the ride. I had a '03 MACH1 black and loved it. I hated getting rid of it. Not getting rid of this COBRA unless something crazy happens. I took out the horse in the grill on the MACH and made it look meaner. Just a thought.

I love the indirect moral support I'm getting through this thread. The other day I was driving through the neighborhood no faster than 25 (loudly as usual), and a lady comes tearing across her lawn toward the street shaking her fists at me and screaming that there are kids playing around here. I almost accidentally ran her over. Spent the rest of the week feeling kind of guilty.

I have Harley's rumble through the neighborhood louder than any car I have heard! Talking about 25MPH. I don't know how many times I have people tailgate me in my other car when I do 25 or even 30 through the neighborhood and people complain about a loud stang...LOl crazy!

I have the same problem man! Theres teens cruising around speeding with their little fart pipes and i drive the speed limit and everyone complains! Not fair lol
