so im soon in the market for a new transmission. Theres this guy on ebay that has a 98 cobra motor and a t56 transmission in a 64 falcon or something like that and hes selling that drivetrain. i asked him but was confused by his answer. He said the transmission bolted right up, but i know that places sell kits to swap the tranny into a 98 cobra. So my question is, does the transmission bolt right up to the motor but we need a kit to make it fit into a 98 cobra, or did he have to buy a kit for it to bolt onto the motor?

i too considered a swap like this (and still am lol)

the transmission will bolt right up to your block. do you know weather its a 10 spline or 26??? you can use either one, just gotta get the right clutch disk to work with that. other than that from what i understand you will need to have your driveshaft shortened and the trans crossmember needs to be modified or you can just buy one that will work with your car/and the T56.

will bolt right up...just get a nice clutch you will need it, and I wouldn't expect it to last very long if you drag race.
